Charlene Hayes – Preschool Leader

Latest Qualification – CACHE Level 3 NVQ in children's care, learning and development.

Trained In - Designated SENCO, Designated Child Protection, Designated ENCO, First Aid. 

Charlene joined Chestnut Playgroup in March 2014 and has over 15 years experience of working in childcare. She was promoted to Deputy Leader in April 2015 then later became promoted to Preschool Leader in September 2018. Charlene had previously worked in a day nursery with children aged 0-5 years and has a wealth of experience.

Tracey Oldfield - Deputy Leader

  Latest Qualification - NVQ  level 3 in Early years, Care and Education.

Trained In - Designated Child Protection, Designated SENCO, Food safety level 2, First Aid.  

Tracey joined Chestnut Playgroup in September 2018 and has over 15 years experience in childcare. Previously, Tracey worked with a local childminder where she enjoyed taking part in their weekly forest school sessions. Before that Tracey worked in a nursery with children aged 2-5 years where she gained a wealth of experience.

Sam Tossi - Level 3 Early Years Practitioner

Latest Qualification - NVQ level 3 in Early years Care and Education. 

Sam has worked at Chestnuts since February 2018. She had previously worked for the playgroup helping to run the toddler group and as a bank member of staff. After a short career break away from childcare she realised that working with children was all she wanted to do.

Kate Anstee - Early Years Practitioner 

 
Kate started working as bank staff for Chestnut Playgroup in May 2018. She had previously worked in childcare when she first left school but for personal reasons she had to put her career choice on hold. This has always laid close to Kate's heart and she felt that now is the right time to pursue the career that she has always wanted. She is currently completing her Level 2 in Early Years In childcare.

Kirsty Mitchell - Level 3 Early Years Practitioner 

  Latest Qualification - NVQ level 3 in Early years Care and Education.

Kirsty joined the team in November 2019. 
 

"I enjoy working with children because I get to help them on their journey to become their own little character. Daily chats make me smile when they are inquisitive about things."

Teresa Telling - Early Years Practitioner 

 

Teresa joined Chestnut Playgroup in February 2019. She has over 15 years experience in childcare working in many different settings which has given her a wealth of experience. 


"I like working in childcare because I love the feeling of knowing that I have helped these children progress and no two days are ever the same." 

Molly Miller - Early Years Practitioner 

  Molly joined Chestnuts in January 2020, primarily as a one to one support for one of our children.

Sam Rey - Bank Staff

 
Sam joined Chestnut Playgroup in March 2019. He had previously carried out his two week work experience at a local preschool setting and enjoyed the whole experience. After starting to work within the restaurant industry, he quickly realised that childcare was what he wanted to do so made the decision to pursue that career choice by joining us and with it he brings life and energy to the setting.

Emily Sibbons - Level 3 Early Years Practitioner 

  Emily joined the team in November 2019. 

Kelly Baldwin - Playgroup Administration  

   Kelly joined Chestnut Playgroup as our administrator in January 2020.
